In order to work on this project we are currently using email, which is posing a few problems, we have created a Facebook group to have a more forum-based discussion but it still isn’t the best option. Our next step is to coordinate schedules and meet up in person, which is the most practical and logical way to get this project done efficiently and quickly. Another option is to do a Google Hangout, Skype or any other kind of video chat, which would make communication quick and clear.
Our strategy for this campaign is to utilize a plethora of social media platforms cohesively in order to make The Children’s Heart Foundation social media experts. The first thing that we have to take into account is that this is a nonprofit organization and therefore, donations are very vital to the organizations success. Not only are donations important but also community outreach is just as significant. We have stated that we will implement the site GoFundMe, getting the organization’s story out to the public through different sites and through GoFundMe will make people connect with the organization and want to find ways to help. We will not immediately ask for money, we will build a trusting relationship with the audience first and they will willingly want to help whether it be volunteer work or monetary donations.
Using YouTube will be a great way of getting the public involved. We can come up with a video that can inform as well as raise interests and questions and ultimately spark a conversation. Instagram is already being used to promote the YouTube channel. Instagram will also be used to promote our GoFundMe page in order to attract the followers we already have. Our goal is to promote things to the people who are already supporting; they can then spread our cause by word of mouth and reel in more supporters.
We’re bringing our individual knowledge of social media platforms, public relations, and promotion together and combining it to build one giant, successful campaign. The distribution of tasks will be easy because of our individual knowledge; we can each be in charge of the pieces that we already know so much about, so that everyone can be equally involved and cooperative. Louis and Audry will be in charge of the YouTube channel and putting together the promotional, conversation provoking videos. These videos will direct people to our Instagram and GoFundMe pages as well. Brittany and Toni will be in charge of the Instagram account. The purpose of the Instgram account is to cater to the loyal followers that we have and get them to become more involved and eventually invite their friends to get involved as well. Jesse will be in charge of the GoFundMe account. This account is the most important because it will determine our overall success.
